Would you like to take on a voluntary staff role with one of the largest Primate Sanctuaries in the world?

We are looking for a responsible, organized and flexible person to cover the Volunteer Coordinator position.

The job is very varied and the tasks will change depending on the season. Duties all year round are organizing the volunteers, preparing the schedule of the day, showing around volunteers and visitors, keeping all protocols and signs updated, supervising staff, cleaning cabins and making sure everything runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to cope with last minute changes . In addition to this they would be able to do all jobs around the sanctuary should cover be necessary , this is the reason why the adequate candidate will be highly motivated to do all kinds of tasks and to keep a positive mentality.

Training, housing and food is provided at the Vervet Monkey Foundation. It is a great opportunity to improve your leadership and organizational skills, and to learn about the different aspects of running an animal Sanctuary.

Sickbay Staff Member

We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, caring individual to be in charge of the Sickbay Area at the Vervet Monkey Foundation. 

The job description is twofold: Firstly within the sickbay building taking care of injured and sick monkeys, training volunteers in sickbay protocols and ensuring the wellbeing of all the patients. Secondly, responsibility for two small troops of vervets and three samango monkeys, all living in semi wild enclosures in the immediate vicinity.

We will provide all training, accommodation and meals. We encourage applicants who are willing to learn new skills and are interested in a career in conservation.
